My name is Richard McDowall, and I’m the Founder and CEO of Wow Bang Boom. For the passed year, my days have been spent researching into Artificial Intelligence (AI). In particular, Machine Learning and AI Agents. With my Business Analyst hat on, I’ve really seen how AI can help optimise business activities –  from manufacturing companies to medical research, even helping startups to startup faster and better. With my software developer hat on, I’ve created linear regression models in Python. I’ve had an amazing time, but now is the time to put all my knowledge into creating a solution.

A little background information. During COVID, I built a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) web platform in C# and I got it to a reasonable state, certainly the web API layer is pretty cool and very useful. But I never did anything with it. Who wants another CRM, right?

Over the last twelve months my AI research and all the ideas I’ve been conjuring has rekindled my enthusiasm for my CRM platform, but not exactly as a CRM platform. I’d really love to develop something much more. An AI platform that will help organisations to optimise their operations. Sounds a bit vague, right? It is actually, mainly because my brain is full of ideas. Thousands of ideas actually for all the features the platform could have and all the ways they might help businesses improve their bottom line.

And so this is “Day One” of my new AI platform development project, and today is all about summoning up the courage to start to build my AI platform. And, starting today, I’m going to record my journey as an entrepreneur who’s trying to build commercially viable AI software. For sure I will do really cool things on my journey, and I will also make mistakes. That’s inevitable. But for good and bad, my journey will be recorded and it will be one that’s authentic. And it might even provide help to those who have an idea to follow a similar path. And hopefully I can get some IT consulting work too, to help fund my project.

Anyway, back to “Day One”.
